Biography

Caterina di Miceli is born 20 October 1880 in Corleone and baptized two days later. She is the daughter of Bernardo di Miceli and Antonina Marino. Her godfather is Giovanni Guarino, who is unmarried.[1]

Caterina marries Don Giuseppe Navarra on 13 October 1903. The witnesses are Francesco Paolo Carraba and Don Antonino Cascio. Bernardo and Antonina are both still living.[2] Giuseppe is called don for the first time in this record. This is especially notable, given that their son will become both a medical doctor and the boss of the mafia in Corleone.

Giuseppe and Caterina have at least one child, Michele (1905).

Michaele is born 5 January 1905 and baptized eight days later as Michael Maria Joseph. His godparents are Leoluca di Palermo and Biagia Salpietra, a married couple.

A margin note on his baptismal record says Michele marries on 23 February 1936 in Corleone with Tommasa Cascio di Antonino. (His wife's name is very hard to read.)[3]

Caterina dies on 19 April 1962.[4]
